John is a Co-Founder and President of Johnson & Urban. In his current role, John provides the senior leadership in determining and guiding the course undertaken by the firm in its professional and business activities, manages the marketing and business development efforts of the firm, and remains actively involved with clients in both project management and principal-in-charge roles.
His training and career experience as a mechanical engineer spans a wide variety of disciplines and project types. For over 30 years, John has successfully provided consulting engineering services and has been responsible for the management and/or engineering design of millions of square feet of construction for a wide range of projects throughout the US.
John focuses his engineering efforts on state-of-the-art systems and technologies directly tied to energy efficiency, sustainability and maintainability. He has applied this philosophy and particular expertise to a multitude of projects including central cooling and heating plants, high-technology laboratories, healthcare facilities, data centers, manufacturing companies, educational facilities and universities. His MEP expertise allows him to analyze overall building systems, and the individual components within.
John is a licensed Professional Engineer and is a LEED Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design 2.0 Accredited Design Professional. He is affiliated with the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), United States Green Building Council (USGBC), American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). John graduated from Rutgers College of Engineering with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
