Webster Green will be a new mixed-use affordable and supportive housing development in the Bronx, New York. Located on a grayfield site, this new development will total 76,909 square feet and consist of 82 units in a range of studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments. In addition to the residential units, the new building will also include administrative and program management offices on the ground floor, as well as a community space and laundry room. An interior landscaped courtyard will include plants and shrubs native to New York and will provide seating areas, a playground and a series of urban gardens. Upon completion, the building will include numerous green initiatives, including one large green roof on the 7th Floor setback with a rainwater harvesting system, a photovoltaic system at the top roof, low-E thermally broken Energy Star windows, low VOC paints, primers and caulks and water-saver faucets and showerheads. Webster Green will apply for the NYSERDA Multi-Family Building Performance Program for New Construction, will fulfill Energy Star guidelines and will apply for LEED for Homes Mid-Rise Certification under the U.S. Green Building Council. |
