7-17 Ludlow Street will be an 8-story, 71-unit senior housing development in Yonkers, NY. Located on the perimeter of downtown Yonkers, this new development will be easily accessible by the Metro North Rail Road, as well as city buses. It is a short distance from the retail and community facilities center of Yonkers. Built under HUD 202 guidelines, all units will be one-bedroom units with full kitchens and bathrooms. The ground floor will include a residential lobby with indoor seating area, mail room and three offices, as well as an exercise room, community room with kitchenette and laundry room. Located off the community room and laundry room will be a partially covered outdoor seating deck. A landscaped recreational area for residents will be located on the roof, which overlooks the Hudson River. It will accommodate a combination of outdoor wood decks, an extensive green roof and edible community gardens, which will promote urban agriculture. The building will pursue LEED for Homes Silver certification, as well as NYSERDA's Energy Star Multi-family Program compliance.
